WHAT IS THAT THREE-O MARK?
When I was a child, a sportscaster, Bill Stern, had a radio program with interesting stories from sports history. He was a great storyteller. Howard Cosell said that Stern ?dared to be different.? At the end of each program he would say, ?And that?s the three-o mark for tonight.?
I always thought that he was saying, ?the thrill mark.? It wasn?t until I was in high school that I understood to what he was referring.
